This week, thanks to the arrival of T-Wayne’s Nasty Freestyle, we are seeing some noteworthy shifts in the charts.

They include the Freestyle Lyrical Theme category, which makes its first appearance this year, the No Chorus Occurrence category (the song is all verse), the Under Three-Minute Song Length category (it’s been a no-show for the past 27 weeks), and the Zero Title Appearance category, which enters the chart for the first time in 52 weeks. The last appearance was thanks to Pompeii during the week of 5/17/14.

Some of the other top characteristics defining this week’s top 10 include:

  • R&B/Soul is the #1 genre for the third consecutive week, accounting for 40% of songs.
  • Solo Male is the most popular Lead Vocal category, accounting for 80% of songs.
  • The Moderately Short Intro Length (0:10 – 0:19) category moves into the top spot, accounting for 50% of songs.
  • The Primarily Electric Instrumentation category increases its lead at the top, accounting for 60% of songs.
  • The Two-Word Song Title category moves into first place, accounting for 40% of songs.
